Lost Horizon, 2014 - 2015
One of the goals I have with Lost Horizon is to bring attention to nature by isolating viewers and amplifying their experience of viewing the sky and horizon. Exhibiting the sculpture in a wooded or developed environment creates a powerful contrast between the vertical forms outside and the artificial horizon my sculpture provides. Ideally the sculpture will be positioned close to trees or structures but far enough away so they can’t be seen from the inside of the sculpture. When entering Lost Horizon a viewer will experience a complete transformation from the exterior environment to grassy plain.
