Thresholds, 2010 – ongoing
Personal journeys can be exciting to experience but I often find myself obsessing about endings. I can also say that I am not typically excited about experiencing change even though with change there is a possibility that things become better. A threshold defines a moment of change from what is currently experienced and the unknown other side. I paint Thresholds to explore this conflict of interests, to think about safety versus risk and to give pause to a journey.
